!!! TRUNK OR TREAT IS MOVING!!!

Glynn-Brunswick 911 is inviting families to join local public safety heroes for the 2026 Public Safety Trunk-or-Treat. The event will be held at the Glynn County Stadium from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 29. !!! We are also accepting donations for our Toys for Tots drive! Donation boxes will be available at the entrance. Please bring a new toy or book!

This family-friendly event offers a safe place for trick-or-treating, with treats provided by police officers, firefighters, 911 professionals, and other public safety partners.

Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superheroes, princesses, ghosts, or goblins and enjoy an evening where meeting a public safety officer comes with a smile, a piece of candy, and maybe even a few Halloween surprises.

The Public Safety Trunk-or-Treat is an opportunity for children and families to meet the people who answer the call, respond to emergencies, and work every day to keep the community safe – all in a relaxed, fun, and family-friendly atmosphere.

Great partnerships with Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency , Georgia Department of Public Safety and many others help ensure our events are safe and secure. We are grateful for another fun and successful Shrimp and Grits Festival!

GEMA/HS Homeland Security Coordinator Kevin Standfield brought the Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) to Jekyll Island for the annual Shrimp and Grits Festival. The MCV served as a fully operational public safety command center, providing critical communication support to ensure a safe and fun weekend for everyone!

JIFD personnel conducted joint training with the Glynn County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency to evaluate their new underwater scanning technology. This device significantly enhances search efficiency compared to traditional methods. Functionally analogous to our thermal imaging equipment, it provides visibility in low-light conditions to facilitate the location of missing persons.

Come on out to remember and honor the heroes that day. We will be there!

Glynn County, the City of Brunswick Government, and Jekyll Island Authority will host a community remembrance ceremony at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11 to mark the 25th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The ceremony will honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost and recognize the courage of first responders, service members, and everyday Americans.

The event will take place on the lawn of the Historic Courthouse at 701 G Street in Brunswick and will include moments of silence, musical tributes, and the presentation and retiring of colors.

Our keynote speaker will be Larry Thompson, former United States Deputy Attorney General.

All residents and visitors are invited to join us for this solemn observance.
