Sgt. Joseph Anthony grew up at 87 Palisade Avenue, across the street from the park which now bears his name. He learned how to play baseball in the empty lot that was where the park is now, and he was a star southpaw pitcher on the Dickinson baseball team, throwing a no-hitter and attracting scouts from the major leagues. Memorial Day Ceremony at Sgt. Anthony Park
Join us on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th at 10:00 AM as we honor Sgt. Joseph J. Anthony. Sgt. Anthony grew up in the neighborhood and died in action on August 24, 1944. We remember him and all who served our country.
