The Sheriff’s Office has had a blast the last couple days participating in events in our community. Last night, we got to see a bunch of awesome costumes as we passed out candy for All Treats Day. This morning we were out at Milford Elementary to celebrate High Five Friday. We hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween weekend!

SCAM ALERT

We received a report from a citizen who received the below letter believing it to be an arrest warrant for missing jury duty. The individual was told to send cash to pay for the warrant or be subject to arrest. Be advised no warrant will ever be mailed or sent electronically to an individual nor would you be asked to send in a cash payment. This is a common scam going around.

If you receive one of these letters, please go to the link below to report it to the Federal Trade Commission at www.reportfraud.ftc.gov or contact local law enforcement.

Traffic Alert!

Saturday, October 17,2026

Be advised there will be an increase of traffic on I-70 in both directions due to the K-State football game. Kickoff time is 11:00 AM. Reminder parking lots open 5 hours prior to kickoff. Expect traffic to be affected in the early morning hours up until kickoff. If you plan to travel, please allow yourself extra time for other travelers and construction. There is currently construction south of I-70 on US-77. I-70 eastbound is down to one lane starting at Mile Marker 301 to Mile Marker 303. Expect delays on K-18 to I-70 post game as well. Traffic will be heavier than usual given it is the Sunflower Showdown with KU this weekend.

Travel safe and remember if you plan on drinking, be responsible and don't drive drunk.
