Big news for North Kansas City Schools students: Google is investing $150,000 in the NKC Schools Education Foundation as a Lead Champion for Education this year! 🎉

This investment will help expand classroom innovation and real-world learning, giving students more opportunities to discover their strengths, build practical skills, and explore possibilities for their futures.

From early learning through high school, Google’s support will help us bring educators’ ideas to life and make hands-on learning experiences more accessible. It’s an investment in what students can imagine, create, and achieve when they have the opportunity.

This new commitment builds on Google’s key investment in our district over the past two years, continuing a partnership that connects community investment with meaningful opportunities in our schools.

Last Thursday, more than 500 guests joined us for our 2026 Community Breakfast to celebrate North Kansas City Schools students and the opportunities this community helps make possible.

From summer learning abroad to growing independence through Project SEARCH and the generosity behind Claire’s Lemonade Stand, our students brought “Go Far. Start Here.” to life. We also proudly honored the Jedel Family Foundation with our 2026 Cornerstone Award.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, our Champions for Education and Breakfast sponsors, and the students, educators, families and volunteers who made the morning so special.

What a morning for North Kansas City Schools! 📸

Thank you to the more than 500 guests who joined us October 22 for our 2026 Community Breakfast! From the Passport to Opportunity student showcase to the stories shared on stage, our students brought “Go Far. Start Here.” to life.

We celebrated summer adventures abroad, growing independence through Project SEARCH, and the difference one student can make through Claire’s Lemonade Stand. We heard from Dr. Rochel Daniels and members of her Superintendent's Student Advisory Council and proudly honored the Jedel Family Foundation with our 2026 Cornerstone Award.

“It really has opened up a lot of doors for all of us.” 💛

For Project SEARCH graduate Logan Eaton and his mother, Lisa, independence means having activities of his own and more flexibility for their family.

An Education Foundation grant helped students learn to use transportation services, opening up more possibilities for work and life beyond school. Today, graduates including Logan and Michael Gee put those skills into practice, including getting together each week at Gladstone Bowl. 🎳

Project SEARCH helps young adults with disabilities prepare for employment, and this story shows how that learning carries into everyday life.

We shared this video at our Community Breakfast, and now we’re sharing it with you. Thank you to our donors, educators, and community partners for helping create opportunities that last beyond graduation.

Tiffany left for a month away from home and returned feeling more prepared for college, new friendships and doing things on her own. 🌎

Her story is one example of what summer study opportunities can mean for North Kansas City Schools students. Through Student Diplomacy Corps, Normandy Academy and Reach Cambridge, students explore new cultures, experience history firsthand and discover possibilities for their futures.

At our Community Breakfast, we honored the Jedel Family Foundation with the 2026 Cornerstone Award for helping make opportunities like these possible.
