Growing with Head Start 🌱
This Head Start Awareness Month, we’re celebrating the opportunities our programs create for children, families, and staff. At Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska, supporting our staff’s growth helps strengthen the work we do for the families we serve.
Our Program Manager, Cheyenne, shared what that support has meant in her own journey:
“My journey with Head Start has been one of growth, opportunity, and believing in what’s possible when you have the right support behind you. ❤️
When I first started with Head Start, I was a Center Director while working toward my college degree in Social Work. CAP supported me in completing my internship, helping me take an important step toward earning my degree. After graduation, I was given the opportunity to grow into a Program Manager role.
Over the past three years as a Program Manager, my responsibilities have continued to grow. I’ve taken on additional sites, new challenges, and responsibilities that have pushed me to learn new skills, expand my knowledge, and become a stronger, more confident supervisor.
This year, I’ve had the opportunity to take on another meaningful role in coaching our Family Services staff, supporting their professional development, and helping them grow in their own journeys. Being able to invest in others while continuing to grow myself has been incredibly rewarding.
I’m thankful to be part of an organization that has invested in my growth and given me opportunities to make a difference—not only for the families we serve, but for the staff I have the privilege of supporting along the way. Here’s to continuing to grow, evolve, and help others do the same! ”
Thank you, Cheyenne, for sharing your story and for supporting our families and staff! We’re proud of your growth and grateful to all of our Head Start and Early Head Start staff for the care, dedication, and talents they bring to our programs every day. You help make these opportunities possible.
