Saturday October 24th is National Takeback Day. Please bring any unused prescription medication to the Sheriff's Office Lobby and drop it in our drop box.
Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. That's why it is great to see thousands of folks from across the country clean out their medicine cabinets and turn them in - safely and anonymously.

Please remember no needles, liquids or aerosols.

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

Early detection matters, and at Van Buren County Hospital, we’re proud to offer Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) as an additional screening option for women with dense breast tissue.

ABUS works alongside mammography to provide a more detailed look at dense breast tissue, where some abnormalities can be harder to see on a mammogram alone.

đź’— Take time this month to prioritize your breast health. Talk with your healthcare provider about your breast density and whether ABUS may be right for you. Call 319-293-8721 to schedule your mammogram today!

Driving in rural Iowa comes with a few extra things to watch for — including Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) emblems. When you see a tractor or other farm equipment ahead of you with flashing lights and an orange triangular SMV symbol, it means the vehicle is traveling 25 mph or less. Slow down, increase your following distance and be prepared for limited visibility or sudden turns into fields or driveways.
