Join us, in partnership with other benefactors and nonprofit organizations, as we turn plans and high hopes into living realities.

A big thank you to everyone who donated! We’re also so grateful to the Driftwood Fund and the Loreen and Robert Ramey Charitable Fund at the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys for making this match possible.

For Jill, planning a legacy gift means continuing to care for a place that has become part of her life.

Jill is a member of the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys’ Legacy Society, a community of people who have included the Foundation in their charitable estate plans.

You can consider your wishes today and plan a gift that supports the Keys in the future. We’re here to help you explore what that could look like.

National Estate Planning Awareness Week ends today, but the conversation can begin whenever you’re ready.

Every child needs access to dental care. Thank you, Keys Kids Health Centers, for helping local children get the care they need. We’re glad to help share your work with the community.

THANK YOU Community Foundation of the Florida Keys !
For many Keys families, dental care is hard to afford when you combine the cost of the visit with the cost of missing work to take a child to an appointment that may be hours away.

In a recent Keys AHEC annual report, one mother described waiting more than a year to get dental care for her daughters because of cost and distance. Her thanks to the team: “You all are dental angels.”

Today, Keys Kids Health Centers (A Keys AHEC program) is bringing affordable dental care right to the kids. A $30,000 In Paradise for Good grant helped support a dentist and dental hygienist whose work reached 1,528 Monroe County children during the grant period. Nearly all were uninsured or enrolled in Medicaid.

Through a mobile dental unit visiting schools across the Keys and dental centers in Marathon and at Horace O’Bryant School, children receive preventive care and treatment, including fillings. Families have somewhere to turn before a small dental problem becomes a painful and costly emergency.

Your legacy gift can reflect what matters to you.

Through the Community Foundation, you can plan support for a favorite nonprofit, a cause such as the environment or the arts, or community needs as they change.

An estate gift can establish a permanent charitable fund. The Foundation invests and manages the fund, with grants providing ongoing support according to its purpose.

We can discuss your wishes now, document your charitable goals, and coordinate with your advisors. That gives you an opportunity to shape your gift and understand how it will work.

What would you like to support?

🎉Congratulations to George and Pamela Linder, the Florida Keys Volunteer of the Week, and to Wesley House Family Services! 🙌

The annual Unsung Heroes Celebration is sponsored by Lower Keys Medical Center with marketing support provided by The Keys Weekly Newspapers.

"Pamela Lindner has served as a board member for Wesley House Family Services for fifteen years, and she and her husband, George, have been instrumental in creating and installing event decor for nearly all Wesley House events. From oversized tulips and paper flowers to wisteria archways and even a giant gingerbread house, Pamela’s creativity brings each theme to life in unforgettable ways, while George’s engineering skills make every design possible and secure. Together, they transform staff ideas into beautiful, immersive settings that elevate each event and create lasting memories for guests and supporters."

Thank you for your volunteer service, George and Pamela!

A future charitable gift can take several forms.

You can include a gift in your will or trust, such as a specific amount or a percentage of your estate.

You can also explore naming the Foundation as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy. Your fund agreement with us will detail your charitable goals, and we will make sure they are carried out. Certain bank and brokerage accounts offer beneficiary arrangements, too.

These options can allow you to plan a future gift easily while keeping resources available during your lifetime.

🌱Your attorney or financial advisor can help determine the right approach. The Community Foundation can help you decide what you want your gift to accomplish in the Keys and make sure your wishes are carried out.

What would you like to help make possible for the future of the Florida Keys?

The causes you support today can have a place in your estate plan alongside the people you love. A planned charitable gift is a way to carry your values forward and continue caring for this community beyond your lifetime.

📆 October 19–25 is National Estate Planning Awareness Week.
It’s a good time to consider what you want your generosity to accomplish.

🌱 At the Community Foundation, we can help you explore a legacy gift that reflects your priorities and work with your professional advisors to put those wishes into a plan.

Sixty years ago, a group of Keys parents wanted more opportunities for their children with disabilities, so they helped build MARC. Today, MARC supports adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in building independent lives and participating in our community.

We enjoyed touring MARC with the Key West Mayor and other community leaders to celebrate its 60th anniversary and see their work firsthand. Our tour finished with a delicious hot meal cooked and served by MARC clients. The Mayor also honored the milestone with a proclamation.

Congratulations to everyone who has helped carry MARC’s mission forward. Our community is stronger when everyone has opportunities to belong.
