I just finished reading: "Death and the I Ching" by Lulla Rosenfeld.

A group of theater people get together in Greenwich Village to talk about their upcoming play & its set.

They include a famous actress, her husband, her personal assistant, a physician (married to the PA), the set designer, a Yugoslavian actor, a playwriter, the young radical son of the actress, & his gorlfriend.

They decided to consult the I Ching, which proffers a dire warning. By the end of the evening one person will die.

The investigation is taken on by the young artist that lives in the ground floor of the house who is able to find more clues than the police.....

I found this to be an interesting read which peaked my curiosity about the I Ching, which I never really understood. Although I wasn't enamored of the characters nor did I empathize with any of them I finished the book and enjoyed the conclusion.

I just finished: "The Discovery of Chocolate": James Runcie

A young Spaniard sets off for South America with Cortez in search of a Special Treasure for his intended so that she'll deem him worthy of marriage. When he gets to Mexico he meets & falls in love with Ignacia who introduces him to chocolate & true love.

He later finds that Ignacia put an elixir of life into his last drink, thus propelling him through time as he introduces & refines the gifts of chocolate across Europe & the United States, all while searching for Ignacia & the love he left behind in Mexico.

I found this to be an interesting read which combined the richness of chocolate, everlasting love, & time travel. It did take me a few weeks to finish reading it, but I did find the creation of chocolate desserts & drinks, & candy very interesting.

I'll add this to my personal library.
