The Nevada Public Works Division is seeking an experienced and ethical leader to serve as Deputy Administrator, Building Official. This position plays a critical role in ensuring public safety and compliance through oversight of building codes, construction standards, and inspection practices across State facilities.

About the Role
The Deputy Administrator, Building Official oversees inspection staff, manages permitting and applications, conducts site verification, and works directly with contractors, agencies, and the public to ensure construction meets all applicable codes and regulations. This role requires sound judgment, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance public service with firm code enforcement.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5–10+ years of experience in construction, inspection, architecture, engineering, or a closely related field
- International Code Council (ICC) certifications required
- Must maintain all required licenses and certifications throughout employment
- Strong leadership, communication, and ethical standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Technical: Building codes and regulations, plan review and blueprint interpretation, construction methods, inspection techniques, and documentation/reporting.
- Professional: Leadership, communication, problem-solving, organization, professionalism, customer service, attention to detail, and adaptability.
