It's raining and we had to fall back in time! That sounds like a sad country song so eat your feelings at one of our buffets today! Hinie's bbq is the most recent Sunday buffet from 11-8pm and they are extending it to Monday - Wednesday for lunch starting tomorrow! St. Joe Cafe has breakfast all day and their buffet 7-3pm. Square 40 has a divided buffet for Sunday mornings from 7-11am and lunch from 11-2pm. The Kuntry Kitchen has a buffet today from 11-2. The Oriental Restaurant from 11-9pm. Eat till you pop today and hopefully enjoy the fall colors before the storms blow them all down. Speaking of said trees, Branch Out Tree Management LLC can help you clean up after the floods or tree limbs that collect or fall down. 🥳 New Place Alert 🚨 Twin City Barns has all the sheds, greenhouses, chicken coops, dog houses, and tiny homes you would want! They are located across the highway from Wendy’s and I show a couple photo of how you park in the gallery below ⬇️ You can buy direct, or rent to own with no credit check! You get free delivery and setup. Teresa has a few chickens 🐓 as examples and has a few repossession buildings so you can really get a deal on these! These buildings are made by the Mennonite in Dyer TN and are quality built. Go by and see them while you’re in town as a good building may be just what you need!

Today is National Cat Day 🐈 and many of us here in Lawrence County have fantastic feline friends! I don’t know of any celebrations or events here that are centered around the cats 🐈‍⬛ as we seem to be all about the dogs here but we can certainly show our support for the kitties 🐱 among us by sharing photos of your cat below as I did mine in the gallery. My cats 🐈 love to sleep 💤

I did see a few events today. At Crockett Park they have a Touch and Truck event by the old restaurant at 9am. On 2nd Thought Consignment is having an anniversary celebration with plenty of kids activities 11-3. Tonight at 6pm is the Spook around Downtown on the lawrenceburg square! The True Value has bigger discounts if you stop by. I also have a lead on burn barrels coming up so stay tuned on a local business who can help you.

Have you tried some of the rubs and sauces on your own bbq? I am trying a few from Shaffer's Meat Market at the moment and would like to try more if anyone else would like to donate. I find the Shaffer brand to offer a lot of variety from beans to ishes as "ishes" seems to be a Texas saying like 7 ish or 8 ish feet. I like to see if I can make a meat as good as theirs. Does anyone else do this? Tell me below. I also like the sub regional sauces like the Washington DC mambo sauce. Maybe DC would run better if they just met up and ate chicken wings together then they might make better candidates. Maybe our own local government officials must do the same. All political debates must be done over a pile of chicken wings! Anyone else with me? Jacks Wings over on highway 64 is great for wings. Below are a few places to get meats of all kinds that sell spices and rubs along with sauces so try this game this year and post your photo of your dish and what you are attempting to copy along side the place who has the menu item you got your inspiration. So who makes your favorite bbq rubs and sauces?

Saturday October 24th on the Lawrenceburg square is where you want to be for Spook Around Downtown. Starting at 6pm the square will fill with costumes of people wanting candy! I don't know how many tricks or treats they have but there is usually always enough. The restaurants fill up so come early and candy lines get long so be sure to go to the bathroom before lining up. I make sure we have a big enough bag to go and a bag to put away candy my kiddo doesn't like so I can barter with other parents or give it away to those who want some more. This event is also great for practicing waiting in line for candy as the following Saturday is Halloween. Just be patient and kind as there are a lot of people in one place and a lot of kids who want to rush the lines to get candy.
