Carter Kits are sensory support kits designed to help our first responders provide care to individuals with autism, sensory sensitivities, or other special needs. The kits contain items that can help reduce anxiety, provide comfort, improve communication, and build trust between the patient and EMS providers during an emergency. Our Northern Berks EMS staff has been trained to utilize these kits to serve our communities. A Carter kit has been added to each of the ambulances as another tool too help provide each of our patients with the best possible care.

Last year quite a few of our full and part time employees decided to advance their careers by attending Muhlenberg Area Ambulance Association Training Center’s Advanced EMT course! They are now working on the street daily utilizing the skills and knowledge they learned through this course. Are you a current EMT ready to expand your knowledge, skills, and ability to care for critically ill and injured patients? The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) Program at Muhlenberg Area Ambulance Association & Training Center can help you advance your EMS career.

As an AEMT student, you will build on your EMT foundation and receive additional training in advanced patient assessment, airway management, medication administration, vascular access, and emergency care.

Our program provides:

• Traditional, in-person classroom instruction—not a hybrid learning format
• Direct interaction with experienced and supportive EMS instructors
• Hands-on skills training
• Realistic patient-care scenarios
• Preparation for certification testing
• Training designed for real-world EMS operations
