Founded in 1968, Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) is one of Pennsylvania’s leading career and technical education schools—where students gain real skills for real careers. Computerized Machining Technology students joined local manufacturing leaders at the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance’s 12th Annual MFG Summit. They shared recent projects, including their work for NASA, and connected with people who share their excitement for making things happen.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming 37 teachers, counselors, and administrators from our sending school districts to our West Campus for our first District Staff Visitation Day of the year!

On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink! 🎀 But at BCTC, we wear it for a cause!

Led by our SkillsUSA and HOSA-Future Health Professionals chapters, BCTC's Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) organized a Pink Out T-shirt fundraiser that brought students and staff together to make a difference.

The result? An incredible $1,200 raised for Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County! Every shirt sold helped turn a show of school spirit into meaningful support for individuals and families facing breast cancer in our local community.

Something delicious is simmering in Culinary Arts! 🔪Students have been sharpening their knife skills while prepping fresh ingredients for soups and sauces.

🔧 Different Equipment. Same Attention to Detail!

Last week, Diesel Technology students were learning about torque on larger vehicles. Now, Recreational & Power Equipment Technology students are putting those same principles into practice!

Students are sharpening their math skills as they learn to convert inch-pounds to foot-pounds and understand how to apply the correct amount of torque when tightening fasteners.

Whether working on heavy-duty vehicles or smaller engines, precision makes all the difference!

Ready to take your welding career in a new direction? Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) is looking for an experienced Welding Technology Instructor to share their skills, industry knowledge, and passion for the trade with high school students.

We're looking for someone with at least four years of professional welding experience who is ready to help students build the skills and confidence needed for successful careers in the industry.

No teaching experience? No problem! You bring the welding expertise, and we'll help you develop the teaching skills! BCTC provides mentorship, coaching, and ongoing support to help experienced tradespeople make a successful transition into the classroom.

If you're ready to put your experience to work in a new way and make a lasting impact on future welders, we'd love to hear from you!
