Our Shield Summer Day Camp program kicked off this week with classes from University of Nebraska-Lincoln STEM and Nutrition programs, an adventure to Haymarket Park to cheer on our Lincoln Saltdogs , and ended with celebrating National Donut Day by delivering donuts to the Lincoln Police Department officers at the Northwest Station.

Did you know that National Donut Day began as a way to honor service?

Established in 1938, it honors the Donut Lassies who served soldiers during World War I with fresh donuts and encouragement.
