We loved being part of this momentous occasion for Nebraska today!
Representatives from our network had a very unique opportunity to welcome David Bradley to ENCAP Nebraska! David is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of National Community Action Foundation. Simply stated: he is the reason Community Action not only continues to exist, but thrive!
We also want to thank Nebraska Senator Victor Rountree and Bellevue Mayor Rusty Hike for taking time to join in the visit, and share how State and local support is helping ENCAP with its new and improved food pantry!
This day was a truly momentous occasion for our network. David’s commitment inspires us all to continue the fight for the cause that is Community Action 💪

Community Action of Nebraska unites Nebraska’s nine Community Action agencies and ensures they shine! If you are interested in joining the Community Action movement to fight poverty, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.
Behind the scenes of every Nebraskan who receives heating assistance in the middle of winter, finds a path back to work, or has a safe place for their kids to learn and grow, there is a Community Action Agency helping make it possible.
Now, CAN is looking for the person who will support the agencies behind the impact.
We’re hiring an Association Manager to connect, resource, and strengthen Nebraska’s nine Community Action Agencies while championing an exceptional service experience across the network.
If you are a connector, problem-solver, and relationship builder who believes strong communities start with strong partnerships, this role is for you.

We’ve been made aware of a scam message circulating in our community.
Some individuals have received text messages claiming “Community Action” is offering large sums of money and asking for personal or banking information. These messages are NOT from us. Nor are they from any other Community Action agency.
As a reminder:
🔴 We do NOT send unsolicited loan or benefit offers via text
🔴 We will NEVER ask for banking or personal information through text or direct message
🔴 If something feels off, it’s always okay to double-check
If you receive a message like this, do not respond or share information. You can always reach out to our team to confirm.
Thank you to the community member who called us first! Looking out for each other makes a difference.
If you’re unsure about a message, call us directly at 402-471-4515.

We were so excited to have this month's store sponsor Lincoln South Rotary Club volunteer in our Store last week. Volunteers helped to organize the Store and bundled diapers for our participants. Thank you, Lincoln South Rotary!
Community Action Store sponsors provide support with a donation, collecting hygiene items, and volunteering. We are seeking monthly sponsors to ensure all families have access to needed supplies. If your group or business is interested in becoming a Store sponsor, send an email to [email protected].

It was an honor getting to be the featured nonprofit partner at last week's Empty Bowls event with Food Bank of Lincoln. The Gathering Place made a delicious Red Lentil Soup which was a big hit! Thanks to all who came out to support the Food Bank and the Gathering Place. And thank you to the Food Bank of Lincoln for having us and being such a wonderful hunger relief partner.
