Good morning, Eagle Rock!

Today’s the day, bring your broken or damaged items to our very first ever Repair Fair! Volunteer fixers will have some items, but if you need a specific zipper, or color of thread or wool, or part for a bike, you’ll need to bring that with you. And make sure that any battery-operated item has working batteries so that it can be tested.

Doors open at 10am, line forms earlier! Volunteer fixers will repair or mend as much as possible but not every item will be able to be repaired, and we’ll try to let you know ASAP if your item can be - no microwaves, sewing machines or CRT (older) TVs.

Tonight is our monthly Executive committee meeting, which is how the Executive Board decides what will be on the main board agenda for next Tuesday evening’s meeting. If you have anything that you would like the Neighborhood Council to act on or discuss, or something else you would like to share with the community, please join the Zoom meeting this evening at 7 PM.

-READ books is discussing the recent concerns about rising rents pushing small businesses out

WE’RE SO EXCITED to bring you the very first Eagle Rock Repair Fair three weeks from today!

This is a great way to keep usable items from ending up in the landfill, so start thinking about what you might want to bring. Volunteers will be sharpening garden tools, repairing clothing/textiles, wooden furniture/household items jewelry and more.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: if you like to tinker or fix electronics, or other household items, have a skill like knife sharpening or any other useful talent you’d like to contribute, pls reach out through the QR code or message us here. Note that we are probably all set for sewing/textile repair, but if you have niche skill, reach out! This is all about neighbors helping neighbors.
