Through Locke’s support and encouragement, Jennifer discovered her passion for education and is now making a difference as an educator in marginalized communities. For Jennifer, this journey is deeply personal — not only did Locke help shape her future, but the teachers here have also supported her younger sister, inspiring them both to reach for the stars. 💙

Sasha, a senior at Locke headed to Cal State Bakersfield, credits the Black Excellence Program for helping her grow academically and personally. She's unLOCKed her potential from AP and college courses to nursing and athletics. She felt seen, supported, and encouraged to lead; now she’s asking LACOE to approve Locke’s application so future students can feel heard and valued too.

Maria has witnessed Locke’s transformation over the years and now watching her student excel in AP courses after two sons who thrived beyond Locke. She’s seen the school’s transition to Green Dot and values the support it’s brought to students and the community.

Jesus, a 10th grader at Locke, is through Locke’s music program and already excited for college and confident he’ll reach his goals thanks to supportive staff and resources like free uniforms, tutoring, and staff check-ups.

Maria, a Locke parent, chose the school for her 10th grader because Locke is by continuing to invest in students and the community and ensuring her child feels safe and supported.
