A quick election note for our WACS families! 🗳️

With Election Day coming up in November, you will see a question on your ballot about renewing the Palm Beach County School District 1.0 Mill Property Tax Referendum.

A lot of people wonder if county school measures apply to charter schools. The short answer is yes! Operational referendum funds are shared with public charter schools too, including Western Academy.

That funding goes straight toward:
-Supplementing our teachers’ pay so we can attract and keep great educators
-Special programs like art, music, PE, and choice programs like our STEAM Academy
-Campus safety personnel, security features, and upgrades.

The district put together the graphic below to show exactly what this referendum funds and what happens depending on how the county votes.

We encourage everyone to look over their sample ballot before heading to the polls so you know what to expect!

💙🩺 A Warm Stallion Welcome! 🐎

Please join us in welcoming Nurse Flowers to the Western Academy family!

Nurse Flowers is a Registered Nurse and she also was a 6th & 7th grade Science teacher for 5 years within the District.

She's looking forward to assisting all of our Stallions and wants any parent/guardian to feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns!

We're so excited to have her on campus, helping keep our Stallions healthy, happy, and ready to learn! 💙
