Looking ahead. Mountain bongos are critically endangered in their native Kenya, and the animals here at RSCF are part of a long-term effort to change that. With 35 bongos already repatriated and our next repatriation planned for 2027, the view forward is one we’re proud of.

Good news!

Negotiations are officially underway for the world’s first international protocol to combat environmental crime under the U.N. Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC).

Valued at up to $281 billion annually, environmental crimes, including wildlife trafficking, illegal logging, and waste smuggling, are frequently run by international syndicates exploiting gaps in national laws.

Led by Brazil and backed by 83 nations, this landmark decision aims to harmonize legal definitions, strengthen extradition processes, and give governments the tools needed to dismantle criminal networks.
