Congratulations to Officers Flanigan and Krause who graduated from the Atlantic County CIT class this week.
The CIT course trains officers in descalation techniques, and teaches them how to leverage community based resources to help those in need.
MCPD has made it a priority in recent years to get our officers heavily involved with this important training, and the results show it is paying off. We're able to better help people in crisis and link them with agencies that can provide the specialized assistance they often need.

Class #428!
Friday, we proudly held graduation for Atlantic County's 40-Hour Crisis Intervention Team (CIT-NJ) Class #428!
Over the past week, an incredible group of law enforcement officers from Atlantic City, Brigantine, Egg Harbor Township, Hamilton, Margate and NJSP Casino Gaming, Ocean Casino Security and staff from the PACT team, Legacy 988, and Angels in Motion came together with one shared mission: to strengthen crisis response, build understanding, and create better outcomes for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
To our newest CIT-NJ graduates of Class #428, congratulations! Thank you for your willingness to learn, challenge yourselves, and make a positive difference in the communities you serve.
Special thanks along with our sincere appreciation to the Atlantic County CIT-NJ instructors, mental health professionals, and community partners, who shared their knowledge, personal stories, and experiences throughout the week.
We are most appreciative of our scenario-based instruction team from AtlantiCare, NJSP Gaming, Margate PD, Atlantic City PD, Veterans Administration, Mental Health Association and NJ Courts. Your willingness to come back class after class to drill our attendees through de-escalation scenarios is what drives better outcomes for our residents and those visiting our communities
You all rock!!
Much respect
