Cape Romain Environmental Charter School Cape Romain Environmental Education Charter School (CREECS) is a public school in the SC Public Charter School District serving students in grades K4-8.

CREECS is a public school in the SC Public Charter School District. In our first year (2012-2013), we are serving students in grades K5-5th. Currently we are enrolling grades K5-6th for the 2013-2014 school year and we will continue adding a grade each year thereafter through 8th grade. CREECS does not have traditional attendance lines and any student eligible to attend public school in SC may attend if space is available. CREECS Students will learn a “love of place” through hands-on participation in an inquiry-based environmental education curriculum grounded in the study of natural resources in the area. This innovative, interdisciplinary, environmentally-based curriculum was purposefully woven together utilizing the constructivism learning approach—where students are actively engaged in thinking, learning, questioning and understanding—to study the various habitats and environmental considerations of the natural resources in their locality.

🍂🎃 What a FUN fall night at our annual CREECS Fall Festival! 🍁

The votes are in, and Ms. Gabbe and Deputy Estrada were the lucky winners of our Pie in the Face contest! 🥧😂 Thank you both for being such great sports and taking one for the team!

🎨🖌️ Half Photo, Half Masterpiece!

Our CREECS middle school artists showed off their incredible talent in Art class with Ms. Heidi! Using half of a photograph of themselves, students put their artistic skills to work drawing the other half to complete their self-portraits! 🎨

The creativity, attention to detail, and talent in these portraits are seriously impressive! We are blown away by their amazing work!

🎃🍂 Our littlest pumpkins had the BEST time at West Farm Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze last week! Our 4K–2nd Grade Terrapins enjoyed a fun-filled field trip packed with fall adventures, sweet memories, and lots of smiles! 🧡🌽

🦅 What an EPIC field trip! 🦉

Last week, our 3rd and 4th graders took learning to new heights at the Center for Birds of Prey in Awendaw! 🌿 Our Terrapins had an incredible opportunity to get an up-close look at some amazing birds of prey while learning about wildlife, conservation, and the importance of protecting these incredible creatures!

Another awesome adventure beyond the classroom! 💚🐢
