Another case cracked. 🎃🔎🚔

Turns out, a suspicious lack of Halloween spirit is nothing a little police work can’t fix.

Case closed. Happy Halloween from Merriam PD! 👻🎃

🎓 Another Citizens Academy class is officially in the books!

Wednesday, we celebrated 16 graduates who spent the program getting an inside look at the Merriam Police Department, learning more about law enforcement, and getting to know the officers who serve our community.

This was an especially fun and engaged group, and we loved hearing so much positive feedback about their experience!

Congratulations to our newest Citizens Academy graduates! 👏🚔 And thank you for spending your time learning, asking questions, and getting to know Team Merriam.

Being a first responder is about more than answering the call. 🚔🚒

It’s showing up when someone needs help, building relationships, supporting our community, and being there for the moments big and small.

This National First Responders Day, we’re grateful for all those who serve our community — and especially proud of the first responders we get to call our partners and teammates.

Thank you for always showing up. ❤️

🎃 Halloween night brings more pedestrians, more parked cars, and less visibility. Slow down and stay alert in neighborhoods.

Before the badge, there were bulls. 🐂🚔

Officer Lutz knows a thing or two about eight seconds — he’s a former PBR champion! With today being the last day of PBR in Kansas City, we figured it was the perfect time to pull a few videos out of the archives.

These days, he’s traded bull riding for patrolling the streets of Merriam… which is probably a little easier on the back. 😂

From the arena to MPD, we’re glad he’s on our team!

Teen driver vs. cop: 👍 or 👎

Do they agree on what’s safe behind the wheel? We put them to the test for National Teen Driver Safety Week! 🚗

Whether you’ve been driving for six months or 20 years, the basics still matter: buckle up, put the phone down, slow down, and keep your focus on the road.
