The Department of the Air Force has officially announced that Department of the Air Force has selected Homestead Air Reserve Base as a candidate location for future F-35A basing.

If approved following environmental review and final basing decisions, Homestead ARB would transition from F-16s to the next generation F-35A Lightning II aircraft — bringing significant long-term opportunities for:
• Aerospace & Defense Growth
• High-Wage Jobs
• Workforce Development
• Infrastructure Investment
• Advanced Manufacturing
• Regional Economic Impact
