Midland Park Fire Department

Last evening members of MPFD attended the graduation ceremony of Bergen County Fire Academy Firefighter 1 for members Colin Friel and Shawn Boland.

Firefighter 1 certification is a commitment of approximately 32 weeks with classes 2 nights a week. We recognize the dedication to training for these members. Stay safe.

Colin Friel was handed his certificate from his father who has many years committed to the fire service. Colin is the first member of the MPFD, who joined as a Junior Firefighter Member, to have taken and passed Firefighter 1 as a Junior Member of our department.

Stop at our fire house any Wednesday evening at 7 pm to inquire about our Junior Program (16-18) or for regular membership.

Twenty five years later, we remember the lives forever changed by the events of September 11, 2001. We remember the nearly 3,000 innocent men, women, and children who lost their lives.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and other first responders who ran toward danger to save others—many making the ultimate sacrifice.
We remember the families who lost loved ones, the survivors who continue to carry the memories, and the countless acts of courage, compassion, and service that followed.
We will never forget.
May we always honor their memory by standing together, serving our communities, and cherishing the freedoms and values that unite us.
