The Gallatin Sunnyside Fire Department was organized in 1932 and is 100% Volunteer, in an effort to provide protection to our neighbors in Forward Township.

10/31/2026

The members of Gallatin Sunnyside would like to wish everyone a Happy Halloween! Trick Or Treating will take place in the township this evening between 6:00PM and 8:00PM.

Please use extreme caution while driving through the township as there will be costumed trick or treaters out and about!

For parents, we have attached a photo with a few warnings to keep in mind while out with your children tonight.

We will have an apparatus patrolling the township tonight so wave if you see us as we are excited to see all of the creative costumes!

This week is Fire Prevention Week! (10/4-10-10) This year’s initiative is, Safe Charging Is a Superpower!

With this initiative, fire prevention week focuses on the everyday charging habits that can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and keep homes and communities safer.

-Cheap charger? Don't chance it.
Use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.

-Soft surface? Hard pass.
Charge on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or bare floor.

-Fully charged? Time to unplug.
Unplug your device when it is fully charged.

-For tools and rides, charge outside.
Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible. Do not block exits when charging.

-Feels hot? Stop using it.
Stop using your device if it feels very hot, starts to swell, smells strange, leaks, smokes, or makes popping or hissing sounds.

Plug in. Power up. Stay safe. As always remember to test your smoke detectors and change the batteries every six months!

Today we pause to remember the 2,977 people, 343 of them being Firefighters, who were tragically taken away from their loved ones on 9/11/2001 at the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and in Shanksville. As time goes on, it is our duty to continue to remember those who were lost in one of the most tragic days in American History.
