🙏🏼❤️
Hello all,
It’s been three weeks since that fateful day. My kids and I were doing yard work in the backyard when I got the call. It was confusing. He had just texted me about an hour before saying he was going to be home late after a meeting.
It’s still all surreal. Just seems like he’s at work, working at making Nampa a better place to live. He had a gift in business, macro-building (I don’t know if that’s a real word but it sounds right), managing big things, like a county or city. And he would have done well to usher Nampa into its next phase of growth.
I can’t begin to describe the outpouring of love and support from people near and far. It’s been an overwhelming blessing. I don’t know as many people as Rick did so I can’t even begin to thank everyone, as I don’t know many of you that have reached out. But the Lord does and He sees you. Thank you all from the depths of my heart. Know that you all have made this process easier than it would have otherwise been.
I thank you all on behalf of my family. I want to give an extra special recognition to the City of Nampa, Amy and Clay from the Mayor’s Office, Mitch from the Nampa Chamber of Commerce, Bruce and Debbie Skaug. They have walk me by the hand and I’m so grateful. There are so many more people that have walked along side me that I could not name them all. But you know who you are. You’ve all played a role in honoring Rick by loving us as you have. So thank you, again. Thank you. Thank you. The tremendous support and care that we’ve received is immeasurable. Rick would be proud.
As life settles into the regular grind and needs of each day, I’m sure there will be ups and downs, as it has been these past few weeks, we take comfort in knowing that Rick is with his Creator and Saviour.
If you see us out and about, please don’t be afraid to say hi, shake hands or even share a hug. We continue to love Nampa and still desire it to be a special place for our children to grow.
From our hearts,
Mimi Hogaboam, for the family
