Student attendance is about more than showing up. It's about connection, opportunity, and ensuring every child has the support they need to succeed! 🏫✏️📚️🎒
Today, New Orleans Public Schools (NOLA-PS) hosted its Quarterly Attendance Stakeholder Meeting, bringing together educators, school mental health professionals, school resource officers, and community partners to strengthen efforts to reduce chronic absenteeism.
Lerone Crayton, NOLA-PS Chief School Support Officer, and Jaimee’ McKenzie, Director of Student Reengagement and Transitions, led the meeting, which included Superintendent Dr. Fateama Fulmore and highlighted the work of Communities In Schools (CIS), the NOYA Reengagement Center, and Families in Need of Services (FINS).
Behind every absence may be a barrier we can help remove. Together, we're building stronger partnerships, reconnecting students with learning, and ensuring more children have the opportunity to thrive!
