Fort Greene Council, Inc. (FGC) is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization established in Brooklyn, New York in 1973 and incorporated in 1974. The Council’s strives to provide services at several stages of the life cycle, at the beginning with our early childhood programs, and through the conclusion with our programs for older adults. In Brooklyn, FGC provides services to older adults from 14 senior centers in seven community districts; and one day care center. In 1990, we launched JAZZ 966 to promote jazz in the community for seniors and the public at large.

🩷🎀 OCTOBER AIN’T OVER YET!! 🎀🩷

Today, we’re at our Christopher Blenman Older Adult Club in Crown Heights, keeping the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness Month alive and STRONG! 💪🏽💕

Our members stepped out in ALL their pink glory, taking laps around Crown Heights to raise awareness and show their support! 🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏾‍♂️🩷

But the celebration didn’t stop there! We headed back inside for 15 special laps in honor of our very own Ms. Geraldine Manigault, celebrating 15 YEARS CANCER-FREE!! 🎉👏🏽🎀

15 laps for 15 years of strength, resilience, and SURVIVORSHIP! 💗

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Manigault on this incredible milestone and giving our Christopher Blenman members a BIG round of applause for showing up, showing out, and spreading awareness throughout their community!

💃🏽🕺🏽 BROOKLYN, WE CAME TO DANCE! 🎶✨

Today marked the grand finale of our BALLROOM BASIX courses, and Brooklyn showed UP to support our amazing older adults from our Willoughby and Grace Agard-Harewood Older Adult Clubs! 👏🏽❤️

We want to extend a HUGE, heartfelt THANK YOU to Dr. Dance and the entire BALLROOM BASIX USA team for bringing the music, movement, laughter, and joy to our members! Your dedication to keeping our older adults active, engaged, and connected means so much to us! 💕

And we’re just getting started! 👀 We can’t wait to reunite on the dance floor this spring and bring BALLROOM BASIX to even MORE of our Older Adult Clubs!

🎉💃🏽 CLUB 966 IS BACK WITH ANOTHER FABULOUS EVENT! 🕺🏽🔥

Some of our wonderful Grace Agard-Harewood Older Adult Club members recently hosted a fabulous Spanish Caribbean celebration, sharing fun facts, delicious food, rich culture, and everything you could imagine about where they come from with their fellow members! 🌴🌎🍽️

And in true Club 966 style, the event ended with everyone on the dance floor, moving and grooving to the sounds of the one and only Azúcar herself, Ms. Celia Cruz! 🎶💃🏽🪩
