NAC provides real help and real hope to thousands of children with disabilities and chronic illnesses and their families throughout New York City.

Through an integrated continuum of health and social services, NAC keeps children safe from abuse or neglect and works with birth, foster and adoptive families to keep children out of institutions and in nurturing, loving homes. Beyond safety and permanency, NAC supports each individual and family served in reaching their full potential.

We stepped into a whole other world this past weekend!

Our Adoption and Kinship Parent Support group took a trip to Mercer Labs and had the best time wandering through classic art pieces that had been enhanced through technology. This monthly group is so important because it offers our parents a space for themselves while being in community with other caregivers who understand their journey. We love our time together and are already looking forward to next month!

We had the best time with our friends from Only Make Believe

This month, our NAC kids got to spend Wednesday afternoons with the incredible players from Only Make Believe and take so many magical adventures in their imaginations. We laughed, we danced, we sang, and we played. Thank you to OMB for always creating a magical experience for our NAC kids. We can't wait to have you back.

To get into the spirit, our friends at Ink Well Kids Foundation stopped by for our Adoption and Kinship youth group to give some Halloween season inspiration. We illustrated our very own scary stories and had a blast sharing them with each other. 👻

🚲✨ Talk about a wonderful surprise!

A huge thank-you to the newest associates at Evercore for spending their day of volunteer service building brand-new bikes for NAC kids. Not only did they build the bikes, and they wheeled them right over to our offices! 💙

The bikes were the BEST surprise for our kids, bringing so much excitement, joy, and smiles. We’re so grateful to our friends at Evercore for showing up for our community and helping make magical moments like these possible.

Did you know that October is Disability Employment Awareness Month?

This month is a time to recognize the talents, contributions, and potential of people with disabilities and to reflect on the importance of creating opportunities for everyone to succeed. At NAC, we work every day to make sure our youth have the support, skills, and opportunities they need to build fulfilling futures, with their individual abilities and goals at the center of that work.

This summer, our NAC Futures interns put those values into action, gaining real-world workplace experience while building a new donation inventory system for NAC. They developed practical skills, contributed meaningfully to our organization, and prepared for their next steps in their professional journeys.

We are proud to support programs that ensure our youth have everything they need to succeed in the professional world.
