Welcome aboard shipmates! Today, the Commanding Officer of New York City NROTC, CAPT Farrell, administered the oath of office to four new midshipmen joining the Strategic Sealift Midshipman Program. Following the administration of their oath, the entire battalion reaffirmed their oath to the constitution. Pictured from right to left are MIDN Bujold, MIDN Bourne, MIDN Wilson, and MIDN Gill.

This morning, New York City NROTC hosted Commander, Naval Service Training Command RDML Pottenburgh and CMC Hochgraver at SUNY Maritime College!!

-RDML Pottenburgh shared his experiences over the past 34 years being a part of the world's greatest Navy.

-ENS Tanaka completed the Personnel Qualifications Standards to now wear the Strategic Sealift Officer Warfare Insignia and was "pinned" in front all the MIDN!! Hooyah ENS Tanaka!!

-MIDN of our unit who are in the license program, provided a tour of SUNY Maritime College's Training Ship EMPIRE STATE.

Congratulations to Ensign John Curley and Ensign Ryan Kircher on their commission into the Navy Reserve!!!

ENS Curley and ENS Kircher will soon be sailing on their USCG Merchant Marine License as 3rd Assistant Engineers!!

Our Commanding Officer, CAPT Farrell conducted the oath of office.

As always, we want to thank SUNY Maritime College for hosting our commissioning ceremony!

Every Wednesday of the semester, the battalion of MIDN muster at 0600 in the morning in preparation of leadership lab.

Fordham University, Columbia University, Molloy University and SUNY Maritime College MIDN are “All present or accounted for!”.

The_Hero_Academy was on the campus today at SUNY Maritime College and all of our MIDN (and staff!) were able to take break from their academic classes and enjoy some time with this sleeping pup!!!

“Another great day in Naval History!”

Yesterday the MIDN from New York City NROTC held the first leadership lab “lead lab” of the semester. We recognized all MIDN who excelled in the classroom during the Spring 2025 semester.
We also highlighted the MIDN who were awarded FOUR year scholarships! A huge deal!
After all the handshakes and rounds of applause, it was time to hit the field for our inventory physical readiness test!

ALUMNI update!!

ENS Charles Livingston, a 2024 graduate of SUNY Maritime College, completed prototype training in Charleston, South Carolina and will be headed to USS INDIANA (SSN-789)!!!

Congratulations to 2nd Lieutenant Malazarte! 2ndLt. Malazarte, a Fordham University graduate, earned his commission through the Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP).
Pinning on his 2ndLt. bars are his wife and daughter-a proud family moment for all.

Once 2ndLt. Malazarte completes The Basic School, he will then be headed to flight school to become a Marine Aviator!!!

Welcome to the team, Strategic Sealift MIDN Wageman from SUNY Maritime College!

After meeting all the requirements to officially become a MIDN, ENS Tanaka (Strategic Sealift Officer) conducted the oath for MIDN Wageman.

MIDN Wageman, from Long Island, is on course to commission in May 2026 as a Strategic Sealift Officer into the Navy Reserve!

And also welcome aboard to ENS Tanaka who is performing his reserve duty with our unit for 3 weeks!!
