Veronica

ORIGINAL POST:🚦New Traffic Signal in Newport🚦

A new traffic signal is set to be activated on Monday, Oct. 19! This traffic signal will be at the intersection of Lowell Street (KY 9) and 12th Street in Newport.

On Monday, we'll set the signal to flash to provide a courtesy to drivers ahead of the signal being fully activated. The signal is expected to be fully operational on Tuesday, Oct. 20 sometime after the morning commute.

Additionally, on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the request of the City of Newport, the city-maintained traffic signal on 12th Street and Brighton Street will be changed to operate as a four-way stop with all directions flashing red.

We'll be reviewing signal timing and phasing over the coming days and weeks following the signal being activated. Some adjustments may be made at the intersection to allow for traffic to flow more efficiently.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💗

This month, you may notice something a little different about our officers! 👮‍♂️🚔

Throughout October, Newport Police Officers will proudly wear pink badges to honor survivors, support those currently fighting breast cancer, and remember those we have lost.

These badges are more than just a change in color. They represent our department’s commitment to standing alongside those impacted by breast cancer and reminding our community that no one fights alone. 💕

Together, we wear pink for a purpose! 🎀
