🚑🚒 Training Together to Better Serve Our Communities! 🚒🚆
This morning, members of East Lyme Ambulance participated in a joint training exercise alongside Old Lyme Ambulance, East Lyme Fire Department personnel, the East Lyme High School EMT class, Sub Base Fire Department, and Amtrak. The training focused on several important emergency response scenarios, including:
🚑 Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Exercise – Practicing coordination, communication, and patient care during incidents involving multiple patients.
🔥 Electric Bicycle Fire – Learning about the unique hazards and emergency response considerations associated with electric bicycle fires.
🚆 Train Emergency Operations – Practicing techniques and maneuvers for safely removing patients from a train during an emergency.
Exercises like these are essential to strengthening our skills, improving coordination between agencies, and ensuring we are prepared to respond safely and effectively when emergencies occur.
It was especially rewarding to have the East Lyme High School EMT students participate, providing valuable hands-on experience and an opportunity to learn alongside experienced emergency responders.
A special thank you to Amtrak and all participating organizations and personnel for their time, dedication, and commitment to training.
Working together, training together, and preparing together to better protect the communities we serve!
