The Township of Ocean Department of Public Works recently re-launched the Recycle Coach, a great app for residents to download. Learn how to make better disposal decisions, find your local waste and recycling info, see your pick-up calendar and set personal reminders. All at your fingertips.

Simply download the app put in Ocean Township (Monmouth County) add your address and you will see your schedule. This app is FREE to use and a very helpful tool.

We are looking to expand the app so be patient and come back regularly for new features and functionality.

The new "NEW" yellow signs have recently been installed in hopes of informing residents and visitors of the reduced speed limits on Sunset and other streets in town. More are on order. Thanks to the OCEAN Township of Ocean Police Department and our Department of Public Works for their support. Let's all do our best to drive safely and respect all traffic regulations. Make it a GREAT DAY!

Lollipop Pond is located in the Wanamassa neighborhood, and, much like other Ocean Township lakes and ponds, it's been neglected…until now.

In the coming days residents and passersby will see crews begin work to dredge and beautify this special place.

We know that beauty in nature is good for our health, both physical and mental, and are excited for this work that will make Lollipop Pond an even more beautiful destination for our residents.

You can offer exceptional products, outstanding customer service and competitive pricing. But none of that guarantees success if potential customers don't know your business exists. In today's competitive marketplace, being good at what you do is only part of the equation. Being recognized, remembered and trusted is equally important. And that is where your local Chamber of Commerce can make a meaningful difference.

As a Councilman, I have given careful consideration to the upcoming Fire Commissioner election in Fire District 2. I have known and worked with both candidates for many years, and I have great respect for each of them, their commitment to our community and their qualifications to serve.

I have been asked by many residents who I am endorsing. While I do not get a vote in this election (I reside in District 1), I firmly believe that local elections should be decided by the residents, based on their own evaluation of the candidates, their experience and their vision for the future. While endorsements are a personal choice, I do not believe that holding elected office creates an obligation to endorse one candidate over another.

My responsibility as a Councilman is to represent and serve our entire community, maintain positive and productive relationships with our public officials and first responders and support the continued safety and well-being of our residents, regardless of the outcome of an election. For that reason, I will not be endorsing either candidate in this election.

I wish both candidates the very best and look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with the Fire District 2 Commissioners in the best interests of the residents of the Township of Ocean.
