Ogden deserves a strong voice at the table.

I’m honored to have been selected by fellow mayors and city officials from across Utah to serve as 2nd Vice President of the Utah League of Cities and Towns. Earning the trust of people who understand the responsibility of serving a community makes this opportunity especially meaningful.

The League brings cities and towns together to help shape state policies affecting local government. This role gives Ogden a seat at the table early in those conversations—an opportunity to bring our residents’ needs and priorities into discussions where our perspective might otherwise be missing.

As each city brings their perspective to the table, we can learn from what’s working in other communities, share what we’re learning in Ogden, and find solutions together that we couldn’t reach on our own. I believe good work happens when we listen, build trust, and work through differences.

I’m grateful for this opportunity and look forward to rolling up my sleeves alongside my fellow local leaders—with Ogden’s people and priorities at the heart of my work.

They show up for us. Every single day.

In our hardest moments, our first responders are there, often meeting people on one of the worst days of their lives. They serve, protect, help and put the needs of our community before their own.

But behind the badge, the uniform and the job are people. People who carry the weight of this work home with them.

Today, on First Responders Day, we recognize everything they give to our community and remember that when they need us, we can show up for them too.

They prioritize us every day. We can do the same for them.

To all of Ogden’s first responders: thank you. We see you, we appreciate you, and we’re grateful you’re here. ❤️

Ogden High School is at it again!

Today the Boys Cross Country team has claimed the 3A state championship, the Girls team snagged second place as a team and Avery Barton took the girls’ individual state title!

These Tigers keep giving our city reasons to cheer. Congratulations to the athletes and coaches putting in the work and making Ogden proud. I’m proud to be your mayor—and a Tiger fan!

BACK-TO-BACK STATE CHAMPS!

Ogden High Girls Soccer - you’ve given our city something to cheer about! What an incredible way to end a season of hard work, determination, and teamwork.

Today's game was an absolute fight to the finish. To the players, coaches, and families who made this season possible—congrats!

Our Ogden schools give us so much to be proud of, and today belongs to these Tigers! 🐅⚽🏆

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to visit the Pineview Pipeline project site and see some of the work underway firsthand.

This project is an important part of our region's water infrastructure, and I wanted to share a closer look at the work taking place.

Where 2 Next, Ogden?

This stop proves there’s a whole lot more happening behind the Rhino. 🦏

We stopped by Rhino Linings- Ogden North Davis to meet Isaiah and see what this family-owned Ogden business has built. What started with bed liners and truck accessories has grown into everything from paint protection and window tinting to detailing, repairs and more.

But what stood out most wasn’t the list of services. It was the mindset behind them: take care of people, solve problems and be part of the community you call home.

What’s a MUST-visit? Where should we go next? Let us know and we might feature your favorite Ogden spot!

“Do you like to make stuff?” I heard that question over and over today during the Aerospace and Defense Career Discovery Day.

These students from Ogden School District, Weber and Davis School Districts gathered at Ogden-Hinkley Airport to learn about future careers, make connections with those who already work in this industry and learn about the possibilities.
That’s what these students needed to hear and see—possibility.

Thank you to the businesses that showed up, the educators, including OSD's Superintendent, who got the kids there, our schools like Weber State University, Ogden-Weber Technical College, Davis Technical College, Utah State University, Ogden Air Logistics Complex and our team at the Ogden Airport for making this a place students could learn.
This was a whole community coming together to make opportunities for our kids who "like to make stuff."

More than two decades of soccer. Generations of community.

This past weekend at the Huaniqueo vs. Aztecas match, Ogden celebrated the Mexican pioneers who helped establish local soccer leagues—building a tradition that continues to bring families together.

It was my privilege to join the celebration with a ceremonial kickoff and present awards and medals to players. 🏅

Thank you to Raúl Rojas and Polo Santiago for organizing this tribute, Miguel Hernández for his leadership and support, and the players and families who carry this tradition forward.

¡Felicidades y gracias a nuestros pioneros del fútbol en Ogden! ⚽❤️

Where 2 Next, Ogden? This stop is a little more bare-bones than usual! 💀

We stopped by to visit Ogden Skeleton Man Ron Pippin, who spends every October turning his front yard into something completely different every single day.

What started as a way to give people something to smile about has turned into an Ogden tradition. New scenes, new ideas, and a whole lot of skeletons, all for the fun of seeing neighbors, families and kids stop by to see what he came up with next. Seven years in, he’s still finding new ways to keep Ogden guessing.

There’s nothing quite like Iron Horse night in Ogden 🏈

The Iron Horse game is one of those Ogden traditions that brings generations of Tigers and Scots together every year.

I had the chance to join the Ogden School District superintendent and the principals of Ogden High and Ben Lomond at midfield to help deliver the game ball before kickoff.

Proud of both school communities and the tradition they continue to carry forward!
