Safe Families for Children - Oklahoma

are in a safe and loving environment. We have three goals: 1) to reduce the number of children entering foster care, 2) to intervene and prevent child abuse or neglect before it occurs and 3) to strengthen, support and stabilize families in crisis. We accomplish this by partnering with parents in crisis to offer them safe, temporary homes for their children while they get back on their feet. Since participation is voluntary, parents can choose to have their children returned to them at any time. Founded in Chicago in 2002, Safe Families for Children has partnered with local churches, community agencies, volunteer families and government organizations to facilitate more than 25,000 hostings since its beginning. chapters as well as chapters in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Kenya, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong.
