Howard Middle School's Odyssey of the Mind needs your HELP!
TWO teams earned a bid to the WORLDS finals at Iowa State University! The cost for one student to attend and compete in this competition is about $1,300.00 which includes room and board, eating at the food hall, competition, and pin trading.
We have 14 students and 2 coaches who are hoping to bring home a WORLD trophy this year! We would love if you could donate to our Venmo page. If you are unable to assist in that way please share our page to others to help.
Another way to donate is to stop by our local STARBUCKS! We have a new HMS Mocha Frappe! You need to order inside and let them know your order is for the HMS mocha frappe and we will recieve proceeds from each drink!

Something dark is brewing within the castle walls… and you’re invited to uncover the truth.
Join us for an immersive, HP inspired murder mystery evening filled with spellbinding twists, suspicious characters, and interactive storytelling.
Guests will step into a wizarding world of secrets and deception, working together to solve a mysterious crime before time runs out.
This special event is a fundraiser supporting Howard Middle School’s Odyssey of the Minds team, who have earned an incredible achievement—placing at the State level and advancing to the World Finals in Iowa! Your participation will directly fund and cover fees for travel, room + board, and registration fees.

Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program that challenges students to think outside the box. Teams work collaboratively to solve complex problems through engineering, performance, and innovation. Building critical thinking, teamwork, and confidence along the way.

Tickets are on sale for the Dance recital on Wednesday, April 15th. Tickets are $5 each and are limited to two per family, and linked to a dancer’s Student ID number.

The show will be live streamed and recorded for any friends and family who cannot attend in person.

Any remaining tickets will be available first come, first served, on April 13th at 8pm. OCPS staff tickets will not be available until April 13th at 8pm to allow all dance families equal opportunity to reserve their 2 tickets to the show.

Seat selection and tickets will be purchased through Teachtix: Teachtix.com/hms .

OCPS Summer Magnet application opens April 1, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Families interested in summer magnet programs are encouraged to apply as soon as the window opens.
