💚Be the reason someone feels included!

Sometimes, making someone feel included is as simple as asking them to play, saying something kind, or inviting them to hangout! We asked students at Ptarmigan Ridge Elementary for Bullying Prevention Month to finish this sentence, “I can help someone feel included by…” and their answers remind us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. 💚 Thanks, Mountaineers!

As we celebrate National School Lunch Week and the final day of Hispanic Heritage Month, we're looking back at a special meal shared with our students earlier this month! Maria Pedroza, a Nutrition Services Assistant at Ptarmigan Ridge Elementary School, shared her family's traditional pozole recipe, passed down from her tía, with students across our district. A huge thank you to Maria and our incredible Nutrition Services team for making moments like these possible! ❤️

EXCITING NEWS for Orting Middle School FFA Chapter!

Orting Middle School FFA chapter was awarded $4,050 as part of the Grants for Growing program. The nationwide program, sponsored by Tractor Supply Company, provides grant funds to local FFA chapters to support the development or improvement of agricultural education projects that enhance students' classroom experiences through chapter engagement activities.

Orting Middle FFA plans to use the grant to strengthen its growing chapter through student leadership, recruitment, and agricultural awareness.

Great work, Falcons! 👏🎉

💛BE THE REASON someone smiles today 🧡

October is Bullying Prevention Month. We asked some of our youngest learners at Orting Elementary School how they can make someone smile!

Kindness doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether it’s sharing a smile, lending a helping hand, or being a good friend, we can all be the reason someone’s day gets a little brighter! 😁

Our schools celebrated Taste of Washington Day last week, highlighting foods grown and raised across our state, including some from right here in our own community!

🥩 Bright Ide Acres in Orting provided locally raised, grass-fed beef for our meals.
🥒 Our Nutrition Services team made their own pickles using locally grown cucumbers from Duris Farm.
🧅 Washington-grown potatoes, peppers, Walla Walla onions, and other local produce were also served throughout our schools.

Shoutout to our Nutrition Services team for partnering with local farms and for creating delicious meals for our students!🌟
