Since the beginning of September, Mrs. Wehr's amazing class has been on a mission to spread kindness through our weekly challenge projects:

Week 1: Kind to Me – Students wrote encouraging notes to themselves to look back on during moments of stress or perseverance.

Week 2: Kind to We – We took on a two-part challenge: completely cleaning our classroom every afternoon to care for our environment, and writing sweet notes to lift each other up.

Week 3: Kind to VFE – Every single day, we wrote thank-you notes to show appreciation for the incredible staff members who keep our school running.

Now, we have officially reached our final project: KIND TO THE WORLD! 🌍
After a heartwarming classroom discussion about what matters most to them, the students have elected to focus their final efforts on supporting our local community. We are officially partnering with the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup! 🐾💛

Who says learning can’t be a blast?

In 2nd grade, we prove every day that we can have fun and celebrate while growing our minds! From engineering custom catapults and mixing up secret recipes, to creative coloring and high-stakes games of Bingo (paired with plenty of reading, of course!), our students are discovering that education is an adventure. We love watching their curiosity soar when hands-on activities bring lessons to life!

Thank you to all of our volunteers who came out and supported our fun learning.

Fun, fitness, and big goals in 2nd grade! After working hard all month to meet their Walk-A-Thon targets, our students had a blast celebrating together!

There’s nothing better than watching our school community grow closer while celebrating well-earned success. Way to go, 2nd grade! 🎉🏃‍♀️

Our 5th graders are leveling up their math skills together! Through the Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) model, students get up out of their seats, work in random groups, and solve problems directly on vertical whiteboards. Less note-copying, more active thinking and collaboration!

Ms. Kelly and Ms. Whisler visited the Kindergarten Cafe! ☕️ Our students whipped up scrumptious food while practicing key math skills such as reading recipes, matching shapes, and counting. 🧮🍎 Math is fun!
