🚒🔥 Little Smiles, Big Lessons, and a Visit from OFD! 🔥🚒
What a great day spending time with some of the youngest members of our community! Today, October 14, the Osceola Fire Department had the pleasure of visiting Osceola Head Start to share some important fire safety lessons!
Our firefighters demonstrated what they look and sound like while wearing full protective gear and breathing equipment. This helps young children recognize firefighters during an emergency and understand that even though we may look a little different, we are there to help, not to scare them!
The visit also included an up-close look at one of our fire trucks, along with the tools and equipment we use every day. It was a great opportunity to answer questions, share some smiles, and show what being a firefighter is all about!
🔥 A Few Fire Safety Reminders:
🚨 Get Out and Stay Out! Never go back inside a burning building.
🚪 Have an Escape Plan! Know two ways out and a safe meeting place.
🛑 Stop, Drop, and Roll! If your clothes catch fire.
👨🚒 Don't Hide from Firefighters! We're there to help!
🔔 SMOKE ALARMS SAVE LIVES! 🔔
Working smoke alarms provide an early warning when seconds count and can make the difference between life and death.
✅ Install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of your home.
✅ Test smoke alarms monthly and replace them every 10 years.
🚒 NEED A SMOKE ALARM? WE CAN HELP!
The Osceola Fire Department has a limited supply of smoke alarms available at the fire station for anyone who needs one. We encourage residents without working smoke alarms to stop by and ask about availability.
Don't wait until an emergency to find out your smoke alarms aren't working. A working smoke alarm could save your life or the life of someone you love! ❤️
A big THANK YOU to Osceola Head Start, the teachers, and staff for welcoming us and allowing us to spend time with your students!
❤️🚒 Building trust, teaching safety, and making memories with the next generation!
