Looking for a rewarding part-time job?
We're hiring a part-time driver!

We're searching for someone who enjoys helping others and wants to make a real difference in our community. Our drivers are often the highlight of a senior's day, providing not just transportation but kindness, conversation, and independence.

If you're dependable, compassionate, and enjoy meeting new people, we'd love to talk with you! If you know someone who would be a great fit, please share this post.

Join the Putnam County Council on Aging team as a part-time driver and help keep our seniors moving!

This past Friday, we had the wonderful opportunity to learn the art of making sourdough bread, in Leipsic at the Lilac Clubhouse! Special thanks to Heather and Ross, of Kleman Haven for sharing their expertise! It was a fun and enriching experience filled with learning, hands-on practice, and the joy of discovering something new. There’s something special about creating something from scratch and sharing the experience with others! To register for future classes please call the Council on Aging at 419-523-4121.

Proud of our PCCOA team!

We are so proud of our driver, Ted Shalter, for going above and beyond to make sure one of the individuals we serve was safe. He could have left when no one answered the door, but instead, he took the extra steps to check on his client. His attentiveness and quick action helped get emergency assistance to someone who needed it.

Ted truly showed what it means to care for others, and we are grateful to have him on our team!

While we are celebrating Ted today, this same compassion and dedication are what our transportation team demonstrates every day. Our drivers do so much more than get people from one place to another. They look out for the well-being of the people they serve, and we are incredibly proud of the entire team.

Thank you, Ted, and thank you to all our drivers for the difference you make in the lives of others every single day!

Shout out to Ted Shalter from Putnam County Council of Aging. Last week Ted went to pick up an individual to take to an appointment. When the individual did not answer the door. Ted walked around the house and observed him through a window laying on the floor having a medical emergency. Ted, called 911 and stayed on scene and directed EMS to the patient. Ted went above the call of duty. So, we like to honor Ted with a certificate of appreciation. Outstanding job Ted Shalter!!!!!!

Putnam County – We want to hear from you!

Transportation is an important part of helping people get where they need to go, to work, medical appointments, shopping, activities and more. Area Agency on Aging 3 and the HHWP Community Action Commission are working together to develop an 8-county Coordinated Transportation Plan, and we need input from people throughout our region.

As a member of the Putnam County Transportation Coalition and the regional committee working on this plan, I encourage Putnam County residents to take a few minutes to complete the survey. Your feedback will help us better understand transportation needs, challenges and gaps in Putnam County and across the region.

👉 Please take the survey and share your thoughts:

Your voice can help shape the future of transportation in our communities!

🥊THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR PUNCH-A-THON A SUCCESS! 🥊

What an incredible day celebrating our Rock Steady Boxing program!

On Saturday, October 3rd, eight of our boxers stepped up to the bags at the Leipsic Community Center, demonstrating the strength, determination, and perseverance that make this program so special.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community, we raised over $5500 to support our Rock Steady Boxing program!

But this event was about more than fundraising. It was an opportunity to celebrate our boxers, share their stories, raise awareness of Parkinson's disease, and bring people together in support of an incredible group of individuals.

❤️ We are especially grateful to the 15 businesses and 28 individuals who generously supported this event! Whether through financial contributions, per-punch pledges, raffle donations, or other contributions, your kindness helped make this event possible.
Please take a moment to recognize the generous supporters listed in our thank-you graphic!

❤️ A special thank you to our amazing coaches and volunteers!
We are so grateful to Dan and Jessica Bredberg, Maddie Walther, Paula Inkrott, Jane Moening, Mel and Deb Warniment, Brooke Erhart, Steve Ellerbrock, Linda Cox, Angie Heitmeyer and Michelle Williamson for generously giving their time and energy to help make the Punch-A-Thon a success. Whether helping with preparations, setting up, assisting throughout the event, or cleaning up afterward, each of you played an important role in making the day run smoothly. We couldn't have done it without you!

🥊 We would like to recognize Rock Steady Boxing SCS Lima for generously lending us the equipment needed to create our boxing ring for the Punch-A-Thon! Your willingness to share resources helped bring our vision for the event to life. We truly appreciate your support!

And most importantly, to our BOXERS—you are the heart of this program! Your determination and willingness to keep fighting back against Parkinson's disease inspire us every day.
Together, we are making a difference, one punch at a time! 🥊❤️

Good times come in little tiles!

On Wednesday, we had a great time playing dominoes in Continental! There were plenty of smiles, laughs, and a little friendly competition along the way.

It was a wonderful afternoon spent together making memories, one domino at a time! Special thanks to Continental United Methodist Church for opening their doors to us!
To resister for future events give us a call at the Council on Aging at 419-523-4121, we would love to see you!
