🕯️🔥❤️
**Tonight is Halloween. But it is also Samhain.**
As the sun sets on October 31st, we celebrate more than costumes, candy, and things that go bump in the night.
Long before Halloween became what we know today, the ancient Celtic people marked this time of year as **Samhain** (pronounced *SOW-in*).
It marked the end of the harvest, the arrival of winter, and a time traditionally associated with remembering those who had passed. In Irish tradition, Samhain also carried the belief that the boundary between this world and the Otherworld grew thinner.
Tonight, we invite you to take a moment away from the festivities.
Light a candle. Place a lantern in your window. Remember someone you miss. Tell their story. Speak their name.
Because perhaps the most important part of remembering the unexplained is never forgetting the people who made our lives extraordinary.
From our family to yours, have a safe and wonderful Halloween, and a meaningful Samhain.
**May the light of those we remember never fade.**
Happy Halloween. Happy Samhain.
