Good Evening Thurgood Marshall Parents, guardians, and students,

Happy Summer and Happy Father’s Day to all of our Marshall fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, Godfathers, foster dads and father figures! Thank you for the countless ways you support and care for our students. Your love, guidance, and unwavering presence makes a lasting difference in their lives. Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines, volunteering at school events, helping with homework, or simply showing up each day with encouragement and support, your positive influence helps our students navigate challenges, build confidence, and reach their full potential. We are deeply grateful for all that you do and the important role you play in our school community. Wishing you a wonderful Father’s Day and a joyful summer filled with love, laughter. Eagles SOAR!

It is a bittersweet time of year, as we bid farewell to our amazing graduating class of 2026, a class that far exceeded expectations, and soared to unimaginable heights. Marshall will always be home to our students and we look forward to hearing about all of the wonderful places our graduates will go. Best of luck, Eagles!

With home in mind, we want to remind our entire school community that Marshall is OPEN and HERE TO STAY! Despite the fears and concerns regarding school closures, Marshall is open and will remain open. We will be hosting a virtual enrollment meeting tomorrow night at 5:00 pm to discuss how you can save your seat at Marshall and learn how to reenroll if you chose to withdraw due to concerns regarding school consolidation.

Celebrate Juneteenth!
Juneteenth National Independence Day. June 19th commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. It marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, found out they had been freed — after the end of the Civil War, and two years after President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.

From the Thurgood Marshall Senior Awards Ceremony!

We are honoring Kaedyn Juntilla, the recipient of the Greg Diamond Scholarship.

Greg Diamond, the father of Principal Lori Touloumian, passed away on April 2, 2019. Principal Lori Touloumian shared, "My father's wisdom always provided me comfort during difficult times in my life, and he was always the first to give me a big high five when it was time to celebrate. My father held education in high regard. He faced challenges in accessing educational opportunities throughout his life. He persevered despite the poverty that he and his family endured following the Armenian Genocide."
Mr. Diamond served in the US Army during the Korean War, attended Fresno State, and later UCLA, where he studied Aerospace Engineering. He eventually secured a position at JPL, contributing to the Apollo 11 mission that successfully landed Neil Armstrong on the moon. In his honor, the Diamond Family established a scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who, despite facing hardships, has remained committed to education and demonstrates great potential for a successful future. The Greg Diamond Scholarship was presented by Principal Lori Touloumian.
Kaedyn will commence his post-secondary education at Mt. San Antonio College. Congratulations, Kaedyn!
