Our crews are out in the community tonight attending two Trunk or Treat events at West Branch Elementary School and Philipsburg-Osceola High School! We always enjoy having the opportunity to get out and interact with the communities we serve, especially with events like these!

Today is also National First Responders Day, a day to recognize not only the dedicated employees here at Moshannon Valley EMS, but all of the first responders who answer the call when someone needs help.

Being a first responder means being there for others, often during their most difficult moments. Whether it’s EMS, fire, law enforcement, or dispatch, each plays an important role in keeping our communities safe.

We want to take a moment to thank our staff for their continued dedication to Moshannon Valley EMS and the communities we serve. We also want to thank all of our fellow first responders who continue to show up, day or night, regardless of the circumstances.

At the end of the day, it’s about being there for our communities when they need us most.

Happy National First Responders Day, and thank you to everyone who continues to serve!

BYSTANDER CPR SAVE

Recently, an emergency within our coverage area served as a powerful reminder of just how important CPR training and early access to an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can be.

When a medical emergency occurred, coworkers nearby recognized the seriousness of the situation, immediately activated the 911 system, assisting the individual to a safe location, and ultimately had to take further action by initiating CPR and retrieving an AED.

Their quick thinking, willingness to act, and knowledge of lifesaving skills made a tremendous difference of the outcome of this situation.

We want to recognize and thank these individuals for stepping up when every second mattered. Their actions demonstrate the importance of CPR education and having AEDs readily available in our workplaces and communities.

You never know when you may be called upon to save a life. It could be a coworker, a friend, a family member, or even a complete stranger.

Knowing CPR and how to use an AED can truly mean the difference between life and death.

To those who stepped up, thank you for being willing to act when it mattered most.

We extend our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the emergency.

Learn CPR. Know where your AED is located. Be prepared to save a life.
