Once a Village Scholar, always a Village Scholar. Today, we are shining a spotlight on Donavan Mitchell!

Donavan is taking his talents to Temple University this upcoming semester and has officially launched his entrepreneurial journey with his friend Shamar. They started a clothing line, , to create clothes for Love & God's Glory! We love seeing our alumni turn their passions into reality. The whole Village is cheering you on, Donavan!

From perseverance through a lack of support as a mother to becoming the support she needed. Thank you, Aujanaye, with for rejoining Westinghouse Academy. She presented to the Health Science class about the work and pathways of becoming a Doula.

All donations raised by our team go directly to our accounts at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. These funds are used specifically to provide food for the school pantries at Westinghouse and Arlington, directly impacting our neighbors and students.

In this role, you will serve as a consistent, trusted mentor to local teens—helping them explore career paths, build job readiness skills, and plan for their post-secondary futures. Plus, you'll support exciting real-world learning opportunities like business tours and worksite visits!

We want to congratulate Jayden for the most improved attendance this school year!
Senior Itis can be difficult to shake, but Jayden took accountability for struggling to attend first period and made adjustments to wake up on time for school.

As a village, we cannot force students to show up, but we can encourage them to show up for themselves. That's exactly what Jayden did. Congratulations, you've earned it.

Sharing new pathways at the 2026 Westinghouse Career Fair! With 30 diverse organizations on-site, we transformed the school day into a networking experience. 186 students enjoyed this collaborative effort.

OBB - Safe Passage Ambassadors

We had a successful turnout at the Remake Learning Day Expo, where we play-tested 3 HCV Village Games + made for K-4th-grade literacy games. These games were made by elementary and high school youth with the guidance of adult staff.

A final version is coming soon. Keep your eyes open and ears perked for sales of these games, coming soon.

We are officially halfway there! This past Tuesday marked our third session of the Family Night Home Ownership series, and the energy at the Homewood CEC was incredible. Families are receiving homeownership insights, credit-building tips, and the confidence needed to secure their future homes.
