CALL FOR ARTISTS, MUSICIANS, PERFORMERS

2027 Concert in the Park Series
Town of Preston

The Town of Preston is officially seeking submissions from local and regional musicians, bands, and performance artists for our upcoming 2027 Concert in the Park Series. This beloved annual tradition brings live entertainment to our community, offering families and music lovers an outdoor cultural experience throughout the summer months.
Performances will take place on select evenings at James T. Wright Memorial Park. The series showcases a diverse array of musical genres, including bluegrass, country, jazz, acoustic rock, and blues.

EVENT DETAILS
Location: James T. Wright Memorial Park 105 Back Landing Road, Preston, Maryland
Schedule: Select Saturday evenings, summer 2027
Performance Time: Generally 2 hours (e.g., 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM or 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM)
Audience: All ages, family-friendly community members lounging on the grassy knoll.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Interested performers must submit an application packet including the following materials:
1. Band/Artist Biography: A brief summary of your musical background, style, and performance history and a few photos.
2. Audio/Video Samples: Links to high-quality live performance videos or studio recordings (YouTube, SoundCloud, website links, or social media pages).
3. Fee Expectation: Your standard performance rate for a 2-hour outdoor set.

Applications must be received by Jan. 1, 2027, to be considered for the 2027 summer lineup. Selected artists will be notified by Feb. 1, 2027.

🚨 EVENT CANCELLATION NOTICE: HALLOWDAZE 🚨

Due to the severe weather forecast, the Town of Preston has made the difficult decision to cancel today’s HallowDaze event scheduled at James T. Wright Memorial Park.

The safety of our residents, vendors, and volunteers is always our top priority. High winds and rain mean we cannot safely operate the bounce houses, vendor markets, or outdoor activities.

New Indoor Halloween Night Scheduled!
While the weather washed out our outdoor plans, the fun isn't canceled! We are moving the festivities indoors for a special Halloween celebration.

Join us for a Costume Contest & Pumpkin Decorating Night!
• Date: Friday, October 23rd
• Time: 6:00 PM
• Location: Commissioners Meeting Room

Bring your best costumes and your creativity for pumpkin decorating! We can't wait to see the community there.

As a reminder, our town-wide Trick-or-Treat is still fully scheduled for Saturday, October 31st. Stay safe and dry, Preston! 🍂🌧️

Bulk Trash Drop Off Day this Saturday!

The Town of Preston offers Bulk Trash Drop-Off Days quarterly!

SAVE THE DATE! Our next Bulk Trash Drop-Off Day will be Saturday October 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

This is available to Town of Preston residents only (if you receive a water/sewer bill, you are eligible). Residents are allowed up to 2 large items and 5 trash bags. ALLOWED: appliances (no freon), furniture, mattresses, yard waste (bagged & limbs cut no longer than 4 ft in length). NOT ALLOWED: hazardous materials, paints, electronics, construction material, tires, refrigerators and ACs.

The dumpster will be on the Public Works side of the Town building. Public Works will be there to help. Thank you!
