Feast for Families: Help Us Share Thanksgiving with ALS Families Across North Carolina!

Thanksgiving is a time for gathering around the table, sharing traditions, and making memories with the people we love. But for families navigating ALS, the holiday season can bring additional challenges.

This year, ALS United North Carolina's Feast for Families program is once again bringing comfort, connection, and a complete Thanksgiving meal to families affected by ALS across our state.

With nearly 900 families living with ALS across North Carolina, we're asking one simple question:

How many families can we reach this Thanksgiving—with your help?

For just $100, you can provide a complete Thanksgiving meal for one family, giving them one less thing to worry about and more time to focus on what matters most.

🍂 $100 provides Thanksgiving for 1 family
🍂 $200 provides Thanksgiving for 2 families
🍂 $500 provides Thanksgiving for 5 families
🍂 $1,000 provides Thanksgiving for 10 families

Gifts of any amount are welcome and will be combined to help reach even more families.

This year, we're not focused on a fundraising goal. We're focused on families. Every meal provided is another family reminded that they are surrounded by a community that cares.

Help us bring Thanksgiving to as many ALS families as possible!

It’s official!!!

ACT for ALS has been extended for another five years!

The reauthorization of ACT for ALS extends critical programs through 2031, continuing support for expanded access to investigational treatments and research into ALS and other rare neurodegenerative diseases.

This moment reflects years of work by people living with ALS, families, caregivers, advocates, researchers, clinicians, and ALS United member organizations who shared their experiences, engaged with policymakers, and helped carry this effort forward.

Together, the ALS community helped make reauthorization possible.

Now, take a moment to thank your members of Congress for supporting ACT for ALS:

CHARLOTTE, YOU SHOWED UP BIG! $215,000 RAISED!

What an incredible way to close out our 2026 Walk ALS season!

This past Saturday, the Charlotte community came together at Truist Field and raised an amazing $215,000 in the fight against ALS!

We walked, we laughed, we cried, and we celebrated the strength and courage of those living with ALS while honoring the loved ones we’ve lost. Every step was a reminder of WHY we do what we do.

To our incredible walkers, teams, sponsors, volunteers, donors, and supporters — THANK YOU! Your generosity, passion, and commitment made this day and our entire fall Walk ALS season so special.

From Wilmington to Greensboro to Charlotte, we’ve witnessed the incredible power of communities coming together for one mission. While our 2026 Walk ALS season has officially come to a close, our fight is far from over!

To our ALS warriors and their families, you are the reason we keep showing up, pushing forward, and fighting for a world without ALS.

Three cities. Countless memories. One mission. TOGETHER WE END ALS!

Thank You for Taking a Night to Fight ALS!

ALS United NC extends our heartfelt thanks to Claire Tuttle and RoseLynne Bowman for organizing Take a Night to Fight ALS: Honoring Sandra Mikush, held this past Saturday evening in Winston-Salem.

The evening honored Sandra Mikush and celebrated her inspiring journey with ALS through a special screening of Stitching Strength, featuring Dr. Richard Bedlack, Director of the Duke ALS Clinic.

Sandra, whose career was dedicated to philanthropy and who found joy in gardening and hiking, is featured in the film as she navigates life with ALS. Her story is a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and spirit of the ALS community.

We are deeply grateful to Claire, RoseLynne, and everyone who helped make this meaningful evening possible. Thank you for raising awareness, bringing people together, and supporting the fight against ALS.
