A public meeting was held on the 6th to review the proposed ordinance. While the township has not had applications for data centers, the Supervisors thought it best to have guidelines in place to stay legally compliant while protecting our community.

Ridgway Township passed an ordinance regulating the construction of data centers, limiting them to industrial zones, where even there they must submit and comply with certain studies and plans.
According to the Supervisors, the ordinance "protects health, wealth, and property."
Read more on the ordinance and other measures passed by the Supervisors in The Ridgway Record.
