Double your impact this June!
If you work for Walmart or Sam's Club, your donation to Muscovy Sanctuary of Florida may be matched dollar for dollar through the Spark Good Make a Difference Campaign from June 1 through July 4, 2026.
That means a $10 donation could become $20, a $25 donation could become $50, and so on, all at no extra cost to you.
As a small sanctuary, every donation makes a difference. Matching gifts help us provide food, shelter, veterinary care, and a safe place for the ducks and other waterfowl who call the sanctuary home.

A little Muscovy self-care moment
Preening is an important part of a duck’s daily routine. It helps keep their feathers clean, healthy, waterproof, and looking their best.
We could honestly watch these peaceful little grooming sessions all day.

Best friends come in flocks
There’s something so sweet about watching ducks choose to stay close to one another. Whether they’re relaxing side by side, exploring together, or simply enjoying the sunshine, friendships like these are one of our favorite parts of sanctuary life.
Some bonds are just meant to waddle through life together.

Did you know Muscovies sometimes play with bubbles in the water? 🫧🦆
Some of our ducks love making little bubbles when they drink, then watching them, chasing them, or poking at them like it’s a game.
It’s one of those tiny, sweet behaviors that reminds us just how curious and playful Muscovies can be.

We didn’t know either… until she decided Ms. Gail’s toes needed her immediate attention. 😅
Apparently, pedicures are now part of sanctuary services. Payment is accepted in snacks and compliments only. 💚

A hard day at the sanctuary
This is difficult to write. Yesterday, Percher’s baby, Pickle, was taken by a crow after managing to slip out from under a secured pen door.
We reviewed the camera footage and seeing Percher desperately trying to get to her baby was heartbreaking. We searched, chased after the crow in hopes Pickle might be dropped somewhere nearby, and even reached out to local groups, but sadly we could not find them.
Today, Percher has been quieter. Yesterday, she kept returning to the corral looking for Pickle. It’s hard not to feel the weight of that kind of loss.
Nature can be incredibly cruel at times, even when every precaution is taken. Please keep Percher in your thoughts and prayers as she adjusts over the next few days.

🦆💚 Percy has a… unique love language 😅
As one of our imprint ducks, Percy is very attached to humans, and apparently especially to Ms. Gail’s feet and shoes. Wherever she steps, Percy is never far behind. 🤣👣
Imprint ducks often form strong bonds with people and can develop some very funny preferences along the way. In Percy’s case… romance apparently starts with footwear.
