Ag in the Classroom had the 2nd graders at SEV getting their hands in some pumpkins this week! We talked about the life cycle of pumpkins, different varieties, and how they have been cultivated for over 9,000 years! Each kiddo got to take home a handful of seeds to roast for a snack or save and plant next year. Happy Halloween!

We had a wonderful time on October 7 at our Native Seed Collecting Program at Twin Lakes!

Participants enjoyed spending time outdoors, learning about native plants, and discovering how to collect and store native seeds. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the importance of native plants and how we can help support our local ecosystems.

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for this hands-on learning experience at Twin Lakes and a special thanks to our partners Calhoun County Soil and Water Conservation District Iowa and Calhoun County Conservation!
