Every child deserves to feel special on their birthday, and the Altrusa Club of St. Augustine is helping make that happen for children at the Homeless Coalition!

Thank you to Zac and Marci for delivering our kids' October “Birthday Backpacks,” along with a donation of women's sanitary items, diapers, and a riding toy for a toddler.

Each birthday backpack is filled with pajamas, a book, a stuffed animal, and a lap blanket. These thoughtful gifts bring excitement and joy to the children we serve, and we're grateful for Altrusa's continued support.

You can help keep this wonderful tradition going by purchasing items from Altrusa's Amazon wish list at www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3N00U32N96PIW. When checking out, please sign the gift card so the Altrusa Club knows who to thank.

At the Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County, our mission is to help families experiencing homelessness build a path toward stability and self-sufficiency. Community partnerships like this one provide more than essential supplies. They help create a supportive environment where children can experience the joys of childhood while their families work toward a more secure future.

Help stock local food pantries for the holidays!

The annual Rock the Pantries Food Drive returns Friday, November 6th, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, 1340C A1A South, St. Augustine, and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, 1050 A1A North, Ponte Vedra Beach.

Last year, our community donated more than 31,000 pounds of food!

This year's drive will benefit 14 local food pantries, including Epic Cure, Inc., St. John's Ecumenical Food Pantry, Pie in the Sky St. Johns, Betty Griffin Center, St. Francis House & Port in the Storm, Home Again St. Johns, and the Homeless Coalition St Johns County, serving families, seniors, and individuals experiencing food insecurity throughout St. Johns County.

Donations of the following items are needed:

Peanut butter and jelly
Canned soups, stews, meats, beans, and vegetables
Canned, dried, or plastic-packaged fruits and applesauce
Pasta, rice, and instant potatoes
Cereal, granola bars, nuts, and crackers
Cooking oils
Diapers, baby food, and hygiene products

Please avoid glass containers, expired food, and items requiring refrigeration.

Simply drive into the main parking lot at either location, where staff will collect your donations. Donors can also enter to win a merchandise package from the two venues!

Every donation helps fill the shelves and support our neighbors in need this holiday season!

Costumes, candy, pizza, and plenty of laughter and play made for a memorable Trunk or Treat celebration at the Homeless Coalition!

Thanks to the students from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, our resident children enjoyed a fun-filled Halloween-themed celebration. The university sponsored the event, providing all the decorated trunks and treats for the festivities.

Special guest Debra Weller of Tale Tellers of St. Augustine added to the fun, entertaining the children with stories and songs.

Marco's Pizza helped make the celebration even better by providing pizza for dinner at a generous discount.

We're grateful to these community partners for giving the children and families we serve an opportunity to celebrate, have fun, and make special memories together.

Today was a milestone worth celebrating!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for today's ribbon cutting at the Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County as we celebrated the completion of our new Office and Service Building, Children’s Education Center, and newly renovated 24th home for a family.

We are especially grateful to our Board of Directors, The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, the Delores Barr Weaver Legacy Fund, our dedicated volunteers and staff, and the many professionals and community partners who helped bring these improvements to life.

Special thanks to Bryan McCloskey, Architect, P.A.; Matt Lahti of Gulfstream Design Group, LLC; Paragon Engineering; ERS Engineering; Russell Rowland, Inc.; Brian Walsh for internet and phone wiring; Rick Hobbs of Hobbs land development; MJ Pacetti; Carabeo & Brothers for landscaping; and Andy Chambers and Carl Jacobson of Joseph Andrew Homes.

These improvements represent more than new and renovated buildings. They strengthen our ability to serve families experiencing homelessness and lay the groundwork for our next phase of housing expansion, which will add 16 affordable homes to our five-acre campus.

Thank you for being part of this important chapter in our mission to help families achieve stability and self-sufficiency. We look forward to what we can accomplish together!

Thank you for joining us today to celebrate our campus expansion! ❤️

Thank you to the First Coast YMCA for inviting the Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County to participate in its Healthy Aging Day event on Saturday.

We enjoyed meeting attendees, sharing information about our programs and food pantry, and discussing volunteer opportunities for seniors who want to make a difference.

What a great day of conversations and connections with our community!

Our community garden is growing thanks to some wonderful volunteers!

The ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc Omega Phi Omega Chapter, returned to the Homeless Coalition campus to help beautify our community garden and plant a wonderful variety of fall crops.

Their hard work included planting sage, thyme, tomatoes, collard greens, mustard greens, carrots, okra seeds, buttercrunch lettuce, romaine lettuce, Brussels sprouts, basil, rosemary, broccoli, bok choy, green and purple cabbage, curly and purple kale, and purple turnips.

We're grateful for their continued generosity, time, and dedication to making our community garden a beautiful and productive space for the families who call our campus home.

Thank you, ladies, for rolling up your sleeves and making a difference once again!

A special thank you to Jason Vanderhoof, our head community garden gnome and handyman from 904 Affordable Handyman ! Jason has been helping us get the garden up and running, including installing a new irrigation system to keep everything growing.
