Our story time crew had a great time decorating their pumpkins yesterday! We had pumpkins covered in paint, pumpkins covered in stickers, pumpkins covered in jewels, all kinds of pumpkins! We had so much fun decorating and hearing about their costume plans for Halloween. Please note there will be no story time next week due to the election. We will be back on November 10 with another story time adventure!

We had a great group today for story time! Today we talked about the solar system and made a fun star craft. It always warms our hearts to read and learn with our young people!

One of the highlights of our Fall Family Festival on Thursday was having Peter Tlusty a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador here at the library. Even though it was a cloudy day, Mr. Tlusty kept the crowd entertained with his paper rockets and engrossing discussion. The kids stayed outside for a good while counting down to liftoff. It takes a lot of hands to build a community! We're lucky to have people like Mr. Tlusty here to make these events special.

Yesterday we were lucky enough to get a chance to talk with students from Ms. V's class at Lawson-Marriott Elementary about Community Helpers. We talked about what community means and the amazing people in our community who make a difference. It was so inspiring to hear how much these kids love their school and community! Ms. V and the staff at Lawson-Marriott are encouraging these young people to do big things in our community. Keep up the great work!
